Keeping Families Together

For mothers walking through recovery, one of the hardest parts is being separated from their children. Traditional group housing often means shared rooms, limited privacy, and an environment that isn’t built for families.

The Mommy & Me Tiny House Village changes that. These small, affordable homes give mothers in recovery — or those who have completed the program — a private place to live with their kids full-time. No more choosing between getting help and being a mom.

Each tiny house is built simply and affordably, but with everything a small family needs: a bedroom, living space, kitchen area, and bathroom. It’s a real home — and for many of these moms, it’s the first stable home they’ve ever had.

Why Tiny Houses

A simple solution with a profound impact

Tiny houses are affordable to build, easy to maintain, and give mothers the dignity of their own front door.

01

Privacy & Independence

Instead of sharing a room in group housing, moms have their own private space where they can create routines, put their kids to bed, and build a sense of normalcy.

  • Private bedroom for mom and children
  • Personal living and kitchen space
  • Their own front porch and yard area
  • A stable address they can call home
02

Affordable & Sustainable

Each tiny house is built cheaply and efficiently, making it possible to house more families without the enormous cost of traditional construction.

  • Low-cost construction and materials
  • Energy-efficient design with mini-split HVAC
  • Minimal maintenance requirements
  • Scalable — more houses can be added over time
03

Family-Centered Recovery

Children are a powerful motivation for lasting change. When moms can keep their kids close, they fight harder and recover stronger.

  • Full-time custody during recovery
  • Child-friendly living environment
  • Space for bedtime routines and family meals
  • Stability that supports long-term sobriety
04

Community & Support

The village model means moms aren’t isolated. They live alongside other mothers on the same journey, with LifeSource staff and resources nearby.

  • Built on the LifeSource campus
  • Close to counseling and program resources
  • Shared community among village residents
  • Continued support after program completion

Where It All Began

The vision for the Mommy & Me Tiny House Village started with a simple belief: that every mother deserves the chance to recover without losing her children in the process.

The very first tiny house in the village was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Mazda Toyota Manufacturing in North Alabama. Their investment brought this vision to life and set the foundation for a village that will serve families for years to come.

“He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord.”

Psalm 113:9

Help us build the next tiny house

Every home we build means another mother who can keep her children close while she finds her way to freedom. Your generosity makes that possible.
